It's Coming Along

I have been thinking a lot lately about this novel. Will it ever get done? I've made little progress but I'm willing to share a small draft of Christopher's home, just so you can get a taste of his lifestyle and how it will mix with Alexandria's

"After Christopher typed in the code and the beautiful, golden gates opened, I could see it all. It was the most beautiful, exquisite, architectural masterpiece I had ever seen in reality. Christopher's house, who am I kidding, Christopher's mansion was like no other. The landscaping was trimmed to perfection. Everything was so symmetrical. Pink and white rose bushes led a wide stone path on each side to the front steps. The same number of oak trees lined each side of the small iron fence surrounding the property. Two garages crossing the main path on each side had rose bushes leading to them as well.
Christopher drove slowly up to the house, probably so I could get a look at everything. Behind the two car garage on the left side, were two young men playing croquet. The grass was cut short, like every blade had been individually trimmed. On the right side, was a gardener watering some hydrangeas that were lined behind the other garage, As we moved closer to the house, I finally looked forward. there was a fountain with a statue of a man feeding his mother water, like she was too sick to do it herself. the fountain had three tiers with water flowing from the man's hand to the woman's mouth and down into the base of the fountain. The sight of a mother in need always hits me hard. All the things i could have done to stop it and all the things I couldn't. I had to shake my head to make the tears go away.
Finally we pulled up to the home. The two men playing croquet had stopped and jogged up to help us out. One of them opened my door and offered his hand. I accepted and turned to look at the main attraction. The mansion itself.
Three marble steps led to the main entrance. The house was white with a black roof and black shutters. There were two large black wooden square columns holding up the porch on the second story. The door was also black with a solid gold knock. I traced my finger around the golden figure. It was a music note, a simple one-syllable music note.
I looked over to Christopher and his two friends. All three of them smiled which made me feel like they had just gotten done talking about me. Finally, the first words that were said since we left the hospital, "Welcome home," Christopher said as he walked up to me. He place his left hand on my back and open the door with his right. I nodded and took my first step into my new home."
It's not much, but it gives you all a sneak preview which is super fun for me to share with you. Please leave comments !
